Claire is currently teaching at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Middle School Jazz Academy, and has been on staff at The Litchfield Jazz Camp in Connecticut since 1999.

Other teaching has included the Mile High Jazz Camp (Denver), Centrum Jazz Camp (Port Townsend Jazz Camp (Port Townsend, WA), The Count Basie Theater (Red Bank, NJ) and more. Claire is an established clinician at all levels.

Claire studied with Joe Viola at Berklee. She has taken lessons with many masters, including Phil Woods, Danny Bank, Joe Lovano, Jimmy Heath, Charlie Banacos, and more.

In the clinic realm, Claire has a selection of big band charts that feature her with high school or college level bands. She can give clinics in the day and perform with your big band that evening. She was the baritone sax player in the big band "Diva" for seven years, as well as playing in Sahib Shihab's Big Band, Jimmy Heath's Big Band and MANY others. Her experience has given her the right information to pass along. Living the fulfilling life in this music - and sharing it - are the driving forces in Claire's life.
